This simple variation of the Four Gentlemen Decoction only consists in the addition of Wu Wei
Zi which enters the Heart.

Explanation


This formula (available in phials) tonifies both Heart-Qi and Heart-Blood and calms the Mind.


The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Pale and Thin body.

Clinical Manifestations


Tiredness, weariness, shortness of breath on exertion, slight sweating, feeling of cold, brightpale
face, cold limbs (especially hands), slight feeling of oppression or discomfort in the heart region.


Tongue: Pale, wet, Swollen.


Pulse: Weak-Deep. In severe cases it could be Knotted.


This pattern is similar to Heart-Qi deficiency and could be considered a progression of it. The
tiredness and weariness are accentuated and are accompanied by a prominent feeling of cold, i.e.
the more tired the person feels, the colder he or she feels. The feeling of tiredness is also
