General Prescription

P-6 Neiguan, Bl-14 Jueyinshu, BL-15 Xinshu, Ren-17 Shanzhong, Ren-14 Juque, ST-40
Fenglong, Ren-12 Zhongwan, Ren-9 Shuifen, SP-6 Sanyinjiao, BL-13 Feishu, LU-7 Lieque,
LU-9 Taiyuan. Reducing or even method, except for Ren-12 which should be reinforced. Moxa
can be used.

Explanation

• P-6 opens the chest and invigorates Yang in the chest.


• BL-14, BL-15, Ren-17 and Ren-14 are respectively the Back-Transporting points and
  Front-Collecting points of Pericardium and Heart. They are the main points for Chest
  Painful Obstruction and, in this case, moxa can be used to invigorate Yang.


• ST-40, Ren-12, Ren-9 and SP-6 resolve Phlegm. ST-40 also opens the chest and subdues
  rebellious Qi in the chest.


• BL-13 and LU-7 open the Lung passages to facilitate the elimination of Phlegm.


• LU-9 resolves Phlegm from the Lungs.

Gua Lou Fructus Trichosanthis 12 g

Xie Bai Bulbus Allii 12 g

Ban Xia Rhizoma Pinelliae ternatae 12 g

Bai Jiu White rice wine 30 ml

This is the classic prescription for Chest Painful Obstruction from Phlegm.
