  • If there is vomiting of blood or blood in the stools add Bai Ji Rhizoma Bletillae striatae
    and Xian He Cao Herba Agrimoniae pilosae.

  • If the stasis of Blood derives from Cold on a background of Spleen-Yang deficiency
    (manifesting with cold limbs, a Pale tongue, tiredness and a Weak pulse) add the formula
    Li Zhong Wan Regulating the Centre Decoction.

  • If the stasis of Blood occurs on a background of Yin deficiency, which is quite common
    in old people, add Sha Shen Radix Glehniae littoralis, Sheng Di Huang Radix
    Rehmanniae glutinosae, Mai Men Dong Tuber Ophiopogonis japonici, Mu Dan Pi
    Cortex Moutan radicis and E Jiao Gelatinum Asini to nourish Yin, cool Blood and stop
    bleeding.

  • If there has been loss of blood for a long time resulting in Heart-Blood deficiency
    manifesting with insomnia, palpitations, pale complexion and Pale tongue, add Gui Pi
    Tang Tonifying the Spleen Decoction.
