(Artemisia Capillaris Decoction)


Yin Chen Hao Herba Artemisiae capillaris 30 g
Zhi Zi Fructus Gardeniae jasminoidis 15 g
Da Huang Rhizoma Rhei 9 g

Explanation



  • Yin Chen Hao resolves Damp-Heat from the Liver and Gall-Bladder.

  • Zhi Zi resolves Damp-Heat from the three Burners.

  • Da Huang helps to clear Heat and resolve Dampness by moving downwards.


Variations



  • If there is no constipation use vinegar-treated Da Huang and boil the decoction for longer
    than 30 minutes so that Da Huang clears Heat without moving downwards too strongly.

  • If there is a Spleen deficiency add Bai Zhu Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae and Fu
    Ling Sclerotium Poriae cocos.

  • If there are gall stones add Jin Qian Cao Herba Desmodii styracifolii, Hai Jin Sha Spora
    Lygodii japonici and Yu Jin Tuber Curcumae.
