Explanation
The first remedy tonifies Qi and Blood and the second "breaks" Blood and eliminates stasis in
the lower abdomen.
The tongue presentation appropriate to this remedy is a Pale, Bluish-Purple body.
Prognosis and Prevention
The subject of prognosis in abdominal masses cannot be separated from that of Western
diagnosis. In the case of abdominal masses perhaps more than any other, a Western diagnosis is
essential. Although Chinese medicine is effective in treating masses, we should never treat them
blindly without first establishing what they really are.
