Chronic Interior Heat


Heat in the Stomach and Large Intestine


Clinical Manifestations


Dry stools, infrequent bowel movements, thirst, scanty-dark urine, red face, feeling of heat,
abdominal pain, dry mouth, foul breath.


Tongue: Red with yellow coating and red points around the centre and on the root.


Pulse: Rapid and Slippery.


Heat in the Liver


Dry stools, infrequent bowel movements, thirst, bitter taste, dark urine, headache, irritability, red
face, blood-shot eyes.


Tongue: Red, redder on the sides, dry-yellow coating.


Pulse: Wiry and Rapid.


Treatment Principle


Clear Heat, drain Fire (of Large Intestine or Liver), moisten the Intestines.

L.I.-4 Hegu, L.I.-11 Quchi, T.B.-6 Zhigou, SP-14 Fuji, SP-15 Daheng, ST-44 Neiting, ST-28
Shuidao, Waishuidao, ST-29 Guilai, Waiguilai, LIV-2 Xingjian. Reducing method.
