Animating the Laser Blast
Animate the laser blast:
1 On the Quick Access toolbar, click the Open File button, navigate
to the \animation\exploding_asteroid folder, and open the file
exploding_asteroid1.max.
This scene already has an asteroid as well as a thin box object named
laserblast.
2 Press H on the keyboard, highlight laserblast in the Select From Scene
object list and click OK.
The laserblast object is selected, but not easy to see it in the viewport.
3 Turn on Auto Key and move the time slider to frame 10.
4 In the Top viewport, move the laserblast along the Y axis until it
comes in contact with the asteroid.
5 Turn off Auto Key.
A dotted line in the viewport shows the trajectory of the laserblast.
