It is round the corner.The preposition a is not needed in phrases like the following:
Está (muy) cerca/próximo.
It is (very) near/close.
Está lejos/lejísimo.
It is far/very far.Distance may also be expressed with quedar, hallarse,‘to be’, distar, ‘to be distant, to
be away from’.
Queda (muy) cerca/lejos (de.. .)
It is (very) near/far away (from.. .)
Se halla a gran distancia de la ciudad.
It is a great distance from the city.Guadalajara dista de México D.F. más de 500 kms.
Guadalajara is more than 500 km away from Mexico City.
No dista gran cosa.
It is not far off.To ask how far a place is you can use questions like the following:
¿Está lejos/cerca? Is it far/near?
¿A qué distancia está? How far is it?
¿Cuánto hay de aquí a...? How far is it to...?
The first question is general, while the second and third are normally used in relation to
places which are more distant, for example the airport, a town:
¿A qué distancia está el aeropuerto?
