Like para, these expressions will be followed by the infinitive when the subjects of the
main verb and that of the complement verb are the same.
Nos reuniremos a fin/con el fin de tomar un acuerdo.
We’ll meet so as to/in order to reach an agreement.
Habrá una asamblea con el objeto de analizar la situación.
There’ll be an assembly so as to/in order to analyse the situation.
Con el propósito de investigar lo que pasaba decidimos contratar un
detective.
So as to/in order to investigate what was happening we decided to hire a
detective.
