b. In the section named Color, click on the arrow next to the word Auto-
matic, and then click on the white square in the lower right hand cor-
ner. Click OK to exit.
This “white-on-white” format will make the text in cell A8 invisible.
- Now you need to add some instructions on how to use this worksheet.
a. Click on cell G1, and drag to the right to cell K1. Access Format Cells.
From the Alignment tab, center the text, and put a check mark next to
Merge Cells.
b. From the Font tab, select Arial, size 20. From the Border tab, select
Outside, and from the Patterns tab, select a bright yellow. Click OK to
exit.
c. Type the following text inside the merged cells: Find Smiley!
- Format the range of instructions.
Click on cell G2, and drag down and to the right to select K3. Access For-
mat Cells. From Alignment, select Left for Horizontal and Center for Verti-
cal, and check the boxes next to Wrap Text and Merge Cells. From the Font
tab, select Arial, size 10. Format the Border and Patterns the same as in
Step 14. - Type in the following instructions.
However, when you get to the end of a sentence, do not use the Enter key to
start a new line. Instead, just press Alt + Enter to move the cursor to the
next line. Pressing the Enter key does not make a paragraph; it just stops
text input and moves you to another cell.- Press the F9 key to move Smiley to a different location.
- Put your answer in the RED box with the column letter first and the row number
second. - Type a? in the BLUE box, press ENTER, and then F9 to see if you were right.
- Delete your answer and the ?, and try again.
