Secret Code Maker

Secret
Code Maker

  1. Change sheet names.
Double-click on the Sheet1 tab to highlight it. Type in Code Maker. Click on
the other Sheet tab, and then double click to highlight. Type in Decoder.

  2. Change CODE to CHAR on the Decoder worksheet.
Click on cell B19 in the Decoder worksheet. Notice that it contains exactly
the same formula as the Code Maker worksheet. The new formula will be
very similar, except that the function CODE needs to be changed to CHAR.
There is a very easy way to do this.

a. Click on Edit from the drop down menus, and select Replace.
In the box next to Find what, type in the word CODE.
In the box next to Replace with, type in the word CHAR.

b. At the bottom of the dialog box, click Replace all. Excel will give you a
message that says it has replaced 106 instances of “code”. Click OK to
close that box, and then click Close to exit Find and Replace.
