- Enter the formula for the dice simulation and format its cell.
Click on cell F1 and type in the following formula:
=IF(E1=0,”H”,IF(E1=1,”T”,””))1
This formula tells Excel that if the random number is zero, to put an H in
this cell; if the number is one, to put in a T.
a. Press Ctrl+1 to open the Format Cells dialog box, and click the Align-
ment tab. Change Horizontal and Vertical to Center.
b. Click on the Font tab. Change Font to Arial, and Size to 36. Click OK to
exit.
- SAVE YOUR CHANGES AT THIS TIME.
Once you have saved the file, if you want to see how this application works,
simply press F9 again. Remember, though, when you are done, to be sure to
close the file without saving before you continue to the next step. - Make the output in E1 invisible.
Click on E1 and press Ctrl+1 to access the Format Cells dialog box. Select
the Font tab. In the middle of the dialog box, there is a drop down menu
labeled Color. Click on the down arrow, and select White from the palette
(it should be in the lower right hand corner). Click OK to exit.
