- Enter a multiplication operator (X).
In cell C6, type a carat (^) and a capital X. This will center a multiplication
sign in cell C6. - Copy the cell format for second term.
You will want to put a yellow box in D6. There is an easy way to copy for-
matting from one cell to another. Select cell B6. Type Ctrl+C to copy. Select
cell D6. From the menu, choose Edit → Paste Special. In the Paste Special
dialog, choose Values and click OK. - Add an equals sign (=).
In cell E6, type ^= to center an equals sign in the cell. With the cellpointer
in E6, press the B icon in the Formatting toolbar to make the equals sign
bold.
Tip:
After you select a color from the Fill icon or a border from the Border dropdown, the
tool on the Formatting toolbar will change to the selected border style. You can then
apply the same border to other cells with a single click.
