c. Select cells B8 through F8. In the Formatting toolbar there is an icon

for Merge and Center. Choose this icon to extend the text and format-

ting in B8 to the entire range of five cells.

The resulting spreadsheet offers a large box with either green positive

or red negative feedback for the student.

Where Did They Go Wrong?

The final example in this chapter is a worksheet to help the students figure out

where they went wrong. To multiply two three-digit numbers, the students will

actually perform three multiplication problems and one addition problem. The

worksheet below identifies the correct answer for each step of the problem.

Your students can compare this with their work to figure out why they had the

wrong answer.
