(b) Ladies should observe proper Islamic Hijab (veil) when not at
home. They should go to work without any makeup, andwith plain
clothes.Theymustavoidmixingwithmenwhoarenotmahramasmuch
aspossible.Anofficeisaplacetoworkinandisnotforthepurposeof
showingoff,orforrivalry.Prestigeanddignitydoesnotcomewithwhat
youwear,butwhatyoudo,andhowwellyoudoit.Beandactasadig-
nifiedMuslimwoman.Maintainyourself-respect,anddonothurtyour
husband'sfeelings;saveyouradornmentsandyourbeautifuldressesfor
him at home.


(c)Ladiesshouldbeawarethatalthoughtheyareworkingoutsidethe
house,theyarestillexpectedbytheirhusbandsandchildrentoattendto
suchactivitiesashousekeeping,cooking,washing,andsoforth.Thiscan
be done byco-operation within the family. An outside jobshould not
pavethe way forupsettingthe whole family. Men are alsoadvisedto
helptheirwiveswithregardtohousekeeping.Husbandsshouldnotex-
pecttheirwivestoworkbothoutside,andinsidethehouseontheirown.
Suchanexpectation isneitherlawfulnorfair.Menandwomenshould
share the housework.


(d) If a woman, who workingoutside, has a child,then she should
leave the child in a nursery or with someone trusted and kind. It is
neither right nor wise to leave children at home on their own, since
many children become fearful or helplesswhen they have to confront
dangerous situations.


(e)Ifawomanfeelsthat,inadditiontotheaboveworksandrespons-
ibilities, she should undertake another job, then she should definitely
cometoanunderstandingwithherhusbandandtakeupajobwithhis
permission and under his advice. If the husband does not agree, she
shouldforgetaboutthisjob.Ifthehusbandagreesforthewife'sunder-
takingajob, shemusttrytoselecta jobin whichshecomesincontact
withminimumnumberofstrangemen.Thisisintheinterestofbothher-
selfandthesociety.Inanycase,whileoutsideherhome, shemustcer-
tainlyobserveIslamicHijabandseethatsheremainssimpleandwithout
any make-up.
