Chapter 53


Be Attentive


Womanisanemotionalbeingwhoseemotionsaredominantoverherlo-
gic.She is more naive and sensitive thana man. She can be deceived
moreeasilyandhaslesscontroloverheremotionaldesires.Shecannot
decidewiselyoncesheisupset.Shecanbeamusedormadeupsetwith
littleeffort.Thusifthemanhassupervisionoverthebehaviourandac-
tions of his wife, most of the possible risks would be averted.


ThisiswhytheholyreligionofIslamappointsmentoactasguardians
oftheirfamiliesandmakesthemresponsiblefor'heirfamilyaffairs.Al-
lah states in the Holy Qur'an:


"MenarethemaintainersofwomenbecauseAllahhasmadesomeof
themtoexcel othersandbecausethey spendoutoftheir property:the
goodwomenaretherefore obedient.guardingthe unseen asAllahhas
guarded... (4:34)."


Therefore a man. who is regarded as the protector of his family.
shouldnotpractisecarelessnesswithregardtohiswife'sdeeds.Hemust
alwayssuperviseheraffairsandmonitorheractions.He mustsee toit
thatshedoesnotdeviateorassociatewiththewrongkindofpeople.He
must logically explain to her the harms of keeping bad company.


He must not allow her to leave the house with indecent clothingor
which arouse sexual feelings.He 'lust not permither to participatein
corruptactivities ortoattendunworthygatherings. Itisafact thatifa
womanis leftalonein her deedsand associations,shewould possibly
fall into the traps of evil minded people who live in a corrupt life.


Menarerecommendedtotakealookatthenumberofwomenwho,as
a result of their husbands' negligence, have fallen prey to corruption.
