Suspicious Men


Itisrightfulformentobewatchfuloftheirwivesbutnottoanextentof
suspicionanddistrust.Somemenaresuspiciousanddoubttheirwives'
faithfulness.This is dangerousandmakes lifevery difficult forall the
family.


Amanwhoissufferingfromthisbehaviour,constantlypicksupfault
withhiswife.Hemonitorsherclosely andfollowshereverywhere.He
findssupportingevidenceforhiscauseofsuspicionfromeverything.If
heseeshiswifetalkingtoaman,orfindsaphotographofamanamong
herbelongings,orfindsaletterwrittentoherbyaman,orfindsaman
lookingather,hewouldreachcertaintywith respecttoher unfaithful-
ness.Ifhiswifehidesaletterfromhim,hewouldthinkthatitisalove
letter. If she expresses her love less than before, he would doubt her
sincerity.


Hemighteventhinkthatsincehisdaughterdoesnotlooklikehim,his
wifemusthavecommittedadultery.Allsuchexamplescanberegarded
asafirmproofof awoman'sinfidelitybythesuspicioushusband. The
situation becomes worse if a relative or friend agrees with his suspicion.


Families,whoareaffectedbythisillness,sufferagreatdeal.Theman
wouldactlikeadetectivearoundthehouse,andhiswifewouldfeelasif
she was being kept in custody. They would both suffer mentally and
theirmarriagewouldbecomeendangered.Theymightevenresorttodi-
vorce or murder.


Therearemanycasesofhomicideandsuicidewhichhaveoccurredas
aresultofsuspicion.Undertheseconditionsamanandhiswifeshould
beawareofthepossiblegraveconsequencesand,throughwisdomand
understanding,repelanydangerwhichcouldthreatentheirmarriageor
