imositytowards anyone,thenyoushouldbreakyour contactwith that
person altogether.
Dear Madam! It is betterfor you to keepyour family together than
keepingyourfriendshipwithothers.Donotthinkthatyouareaslavein
the chains of your husband, hut realise that woo are an ill man's wife.
Remember whenyou made a marital covenant with your husband,
youundertooktoshareallthehappyandthe sadoccasionsof life.Isit
nowfairforyoutomistreatyour husbandwhoissufferingfromanill-
ness?Putawayimmaturethoughtsandbeprovident.ByAllah,however
muchyoursacrificeforyourfamily,itisworthit.Agoodwomanisone
who can cope with in difficult situations.
Imam Sadiq(AS)stated;'Jihad of womanis inher patience towards
her husband's malicious acts and fervour. Do not do anything which
would make your husband suspicious. Do not look at other men.
Do not associate with strangemen. Do not leave the housewithout
your husband's permission. Do not get in strangers ears. Only your
chastity isnot enough butyoushould seriouslyavoid anythingwhich
wouldarouseyourhusband'ssuspicion.Hemightbecomesuspiciousof
the most trivial points of your behaviour.
''A27-year old woman saidin the court:'It was the winter of 1963,
when on a snowy day, I was in a car which belonged to my friend's
uncle.Sheofferedthat herunclewould givemealifthome.Iaccepted
andgotinhiscar.Whenwereachedhome,myhusbandwasstandingby
