The Satisfaction of Your Husband and Not Your
Mother
A girl, while in her parents' house, is duty-bound to satisfy them.
However,oncesheismarried,herrolechanges.Inherhusband'shouse,
awomanshouldgiveprioritytoherhusband'sneeds.Evenwhenthere
areconflictingdesiresofherhusbandandherparents,sheshouldobey
her husband, even at the expense of the parents' dissatisfaction.
Disobediencetooneshusbandmayharmone'smaritalrelationshipand
vice-versa. Moreover, many mothers do not enjoya proper education
and wisdom.
Some mothers have not yet realised that they should leave their
daughterstoreachanunderstandingwith theirhusbandsof theirown.
Themarriedcouplemustbelefttoplantheirownaffairsandiftheyen-
counter any difficulty, they should overcome it through their own
initiative.
Sincethewives'mothersareunawareofthispoint,then,intheirown
minds,they tryto make'theirson-in-lawactaccordingtotheirdesires.
Theytry,directlyandindirectly,tointerfereintheirfamilyaffairs.They
usetheiryoungdaughters,whoare inexperiencedandnotquiteaware
of their situations, in order to influence the sons-in-law. The mothers
constantlytelltheirdaughtershow toact,whattodo,what tosay,and
what not to say. The poor daughter, who regards her mother as sym-
patheticandexperienced,obeysherandcommitsherselftothemother's
desires too.
There would not be any problems if the son-in-law submits to the
mother-in-law'sdesires.However,ifheshowsresistance, thenrowsbe-
gintotakeshape.Inthelattercase,theignorantmothermaybecomeso
stubbornthatitmayleadtothedestructionofherdaughter'sfamilylife.
