attractive at home and be sure that he will not lose interest in you.


Read the following letter written by a husband:
'Onecannotdistinguishmywifefrommyservantinthehouse.Iswear
byAllah that I sometimes think: I wish she would wear one of these
dressesmadeforparties,athome.Iwishshewouldthrowawaythose
tornandwornoutclothes.Ihavetoldherafewtimes:'darling!atleast
wearthosenicedressesathomeonholidays.'Shetoldmesourly:Idon't
needtobeparticularwhenIamathome;butifonedayIlookuntidyin
the presence of my colleagues, then it would be embarrassing for me'."


Thereadermightbelievethatwhilehousekeepingandcooking,awo-
mancannotdressuporlookbeautiful.Thismaybetruebutahousewife
canhavedifferentclothesfordoingthehousework;andshecanchange
her workingclothesto proper oneswhile sheisin the presenceof her
husbandorforwhenhereturnshome.Youcanalways combyour hair
and keep yourself clean after the housework.


'Imam Baqir(AS)stated:'Itis incumbent uponawomanto perfume
herself,towearherbestclothes,toadornherselfinthebestway,andto
meet her husband in this state day and night'."7


ImamSadiq(AS)stated:'Womenshouldnotgiveupadornment,beit
onlywith anecklace. Sheshouldnothaveuntingedhands,be itwitha
little henna. Even old women should not give up adornment'."
