Themineralsarenecessaryforthegrowthofhones,teeth,andthereg-
ulationofmusclefunctions.Carbohydratescreateenergyandheat.Pro-
teinhelpsinthereplacingofoldordeadcellscausingthegrowthofthe
body.


Vitaminsare alsoimportant forthegrowth,strengtheningthe bones,
regulatingthechemicalreactionsinthebody,andarevitalinmaintain-
ing a healthy nervous system.


Eachoftheabovesubstancesisvitalforthebody.Malnutritioncauses
manyillnessesandcanbefatal.Thequalityofthefoodisimportantand
has a proportional relationship with one's life-span happiness or sad-
ness, beauty or ugliness and healthy nerves or mental disorders.


Wearewhatweeat.Ifonemonitorshisfoodandcaresforhiseating
habits,hewouldbecomeilllessfrequently.Itisnotwisetoeatjustdeli-
ciousfoodwithoutponderingoveritsquality.Onceone's healthisim-
pairedasaresultofbadfood,onewouldhavetoseekmedicaltreatment
byadoctor,butunfortunatelythehumanbodywouldneverberestored
to its original health.


TheProphet(SA)ofAllahstated:'Thestomachisthecentreofallill-
nesses.'Sincethe choiceof foodis withthe women,therefore,theyare
verymuchresponsibleforthefamilyhealth.Thesmallestcarelessnesson
her part, would expose the health of all the family members to many
illnesses.


Thereforea housewife,besidesbeing a goodcook, shouldbeableto
identifythequalityof thefood.Firstly: Sheshouldmakeafoodwhich
has all the nourishment necessary for a human body to function
properly.
