Joachim Kügler (Prof. Dr. theol. habil.) is a priest of the Roman Catholic
Church since 1988 and holds the Chair for New Testament Sciences at
Bamberg University (Germany) since 2008. Before that he was Pro-
fessor for Biblical Theology at Bayreuth University (1999-2008). He is
one of the founding editors of “Bible in Africa Studies” (BiAS) series
and has worked intensively with African postgraduate candidates in the
last decade. His research is focused on the context religions of the Bi-
ble, theory of biblical studies and on applied biblical studies. Kügler has
published extensively on various aspects of the Bible. A list of his nu-

Francis Machingura (PhD) is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at the
University of Zimbabwe in Harare. He holds a PhD in Interkulturelle
Bibelwissenschaft (Intercultural Biblical Studies) from Bayreuth Uni-
versity, Germany. Among his various publications is The Messianic
Feeding of the Masses: An Analysis of John 6 in the Context of Messianic
Leadership in Post-Colonial Zimbabwe (2012), volume 8 in BiAS series.
Tapiwa Praise Mapuranga (PhD) is a lecturer in Religion and Gender at the
University of Zimbabwe. She has published on various themes on gen-
der such as sexualities, HIV and AIDS, gospel music amongst other is-
sues, in journals and book chapters. Between 2009 to date she has re-
ceived extensive training on sexualities, religion and gender through
workshops from both home and abroad. Her research interests are in
the areas of religion and gender, youth, sexualities.
Canisius Mwandayi (PhD) is a Lecturer at Midlands State University in Zim-
babwe. He holds a PhD in Interkulturelle Bibelwissenschaft (Intercul-
tural Biblical Studies) from Bayreuth University, Germany. He studied
Philosophy and Theology at the The Regional Seminary, Chishawasha
in Zimbabwe. He holds BA Hons and MA in Religious Studies from
the University of Zimbabwe.
Moji Ruele (PhD) works at the University of Botswana as a senior lecturer in
the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. He holds Diploma
in Secondary Education, BA (Hum) M.A (Hum), University of Hull and
a PhD in Contextual theologies (University of Wales, Lampeter. He is
widely published in the area of Gender and HIV/AIDS, and his re-
search interests are in land, culture and other socio-economic chal-
lenges from a liberationist theological persepctive.
Eliot Tofa (PhD) is a Lecturer in the Department of Theology and Religious
Studies Kwaluseni at the University of Swaziland. He holds a Doctor of
Philosophy degree from the University of Zimbabwe.
