Because of the tendency of the Togethernesss personality to want to
please everyone, these individuals often have a difficult time making deci-
sions. They don’t want anyone to be upset with the decisions they make. They
also have trouble standing up for their own feelings. I often say (tongue in
cheek) that you can never quite trust the smiles of Togetherness clients be-
cause they can smile benignly at you—and simultaneously plan your assassi-
nation. They are unlikely to tell you how they really feel and are most likely
to tell you what they think you want to hear.
Following is a list of the common relational liabilities for the Togeth-
erness personality.

Areas for Improvement
One of the first areas Togetherness individuals need to work on is deal-
ing with issues in a more objective manner. They can bog down processes
by overplaying the consensus card or by letting themselves be too easily of-
fended. The Togetherness personality must learn to not take every dis-
agreement personally and try to handle criticism with a higher degree of
emotional detachment. A person’s comment may simply be about im-
proving the process—it’s not necessarily a personal attack. The Togetherness
person needs to work on stronger assertiveness skills. They often punctu-
ate their ideas with physical and tonal question marks, as if to say, “I’m
sorry... is it OK to say that?” They should practice speaking with more
conviction and resolve.
THE ENTERPRISER PERSONALITY
Strengths
The Enterpriser personality style (see Figure 3.2) is results oriented, and
their strengths reflect that dynamic. Enterprisers are competitive in nature,
