Storing This Food
Store beer in a cool place. Beer tastes best when consumed within two months of the day it
is made. Since you cannot be certain how long it took to ship the beer to the store or how
long it has been sitting on the grocery shelves, buy only as much beer as you plan to use
within a week or two.
Protect bottled beer and open bottles or cans of beer from direct sunlight, which can
change sulfur compounds in beer into isopentyl mercaptan, the smelly chemical that gives
stale beer its characteristic unpleasant odor.
