  • encourage dietary supplements;

  • provide skilled dietetic supervision;

    ly (nausea, vomiting);

  • consider the need for tube feeding early, espe-
    cially in high-nutritional-risk patients;

    • remember that a child may eat better at home,

    • use parenteral nutrition when appropriate (i.e.
      when enteral feeds are precluded by gastroin-
      testinal dysfunction).
