➠People feel a loss of control over their lives, jobs, or careers.
➠People who used to be confident are now feeling lost, confused, and baffled or threat-
ened by what seem to be “new rules.”
Even when identified, paradigm shifts can seem revolutionary, with people disagreeing
about problems. With different underlying assumptions, people in the old and new paradigms
live in different worlds. Thus, a principle or method that is impossible to grasp by one group
is intuitively obvious to another group.
