The Leadership Secrets of Billy Graham

(ff) #1

Most of us don’t have opportunities on that scale, but as lead-
ers, we know our decisions and actions and life choices power-
fully affect others. Most of us can dream dreams of making a
difference, fueling our positive thrusts by seeking out inspiration
from others, from books and films and whatever means we indi-
vidually use to enlarge our vision and hone our skills. A sense of
gratitude that we can be part of significant dynamics can empower
our commitments.
It would be naive to indicate all of this is easy. It never has
been! Martin Luther said, “Prayer, meditation, and temptation
make a minister.” Interesting combination! We all struggle with
temptations, even though they are different for each of us. The
struggles Luther indicated continue. Yet like dawn’s light chasing
away shadows, becoming caught up in a great and worthy cause
can illumine and brighten our mental and emotional landscapes.

Points to Ponder

BILLY GRAHAM:
When wealth is lost, nothing is lost. When health is lost,
something is lost. When character is lost, everything is lost.

THE BIBLE:
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
MATTHEW 6:13 KJV
