Two Plywood Dollies

F

OR YEARS,I’VE BEENusing the dolly shown at right in the draw-
ing to handle large, heavy panels. I use it to tilt the panels up to
the top of my table saw and to unload panels from my truck. It also
serves as a roll-around stepladder and a portable work surface.

TRUGGLING WITH SHEETS OFplywood is a real strain on my back,
so I built the plywood dolly shown at left in the drawing above
to make handling the sheets easy. When I bring plywood to the shop
in my pickup truck, I wheel the dolly up to the back of the truck
with the cradle locked in the horizontal position. Then I slide the ply-
wood from the truck onto the dolly with the long edge of the sheet
resting against the foot. To transport, I tilt the cradle by tapping the
locking bar with my foot, allowing it to swing to the vertical position.
