Knockdown Sawhorse
H
ERE’S A SAWHORSE WITHno metal parts to mar your work.
These horses stack neatly, and they can also be knocked apart
easily for storage or transport. The plywood legs are 8 in. wide at the
top, though 6 in. will work if you want to cut down on weight. The
only caution is that the sliding joints must be cut tight enough so that
they must be driven with a hammer, or the horse will wobble. This
construction is much stronger than it looks at first glance—I’ve put
one sawhorse through the teenage-student torture test in my shop
class, where it survives unbroken.
