approach as the ‘practice of lively
space’. This sectional perspective
drawing was made as part of a study
for the book Graphic Anatomy to
catalogue the houses that they had
designed. Their intention was to
produce drawings with a spatial
depth, which describe the various
relationships between spaces,
components and objects, and which
show the building’s context, its
occupants and the evidence of their
