Time Management : Set Priorities to Get the Right Things Done

TIME MANAGEMENT IN THE WORKPLACE

WHAT’S YOUR TIME WORTH?

We can all benefit from reframing our
sense of time. How can you lead one
successful hour after another? Put it
in numbers:

  • A person earning $30,000 per year
is earning roughly 30 cents per
minute, or about $18 per hour.

  • A person earning $50,000 per year
is earning roughly 50 cents per
minute, or about $30 per hour.

  • A person earning $75,000 per year
is earning roughly 75 cents per
minute, or about $45 per hour.

  • A person earning $100,000 per
year is earning roughly $1 per
minute or about $60 per hour.

If you wrote yourself a mental check at
the end of every day for the minutes
and hours you used effectively, what
would it total? If you billed yourself for
the minutes and hours wasted, what
would the amount be? Would you wind
up with a net profit or loss for the day?
