TIME MANAGEMENT IN THE WORKPLACE

to encouraging your team to adopt positive time-
management skills.

Macro Approach
Create a time-management plan.When you
focus on time management in your depart-
ment, you and your staff begin supporting each
other in a joint effort. Discuss ways to prevent
time wasting in areas of your department that

seem especially ineffi cient. Set up an infor-
mal forum, in which your staff can share their
time-saving tricks. Some people have a natu-
ral sense of how to use time effectively, and
everyone can benefi t from their wisdom. Don’t
forget to offer your own suggestions. Then
draft a time-management plan that allows
everyone to focus on tasks and objectives that
support the company’s goals.

do it right, but there’s
always time to do it over
again.”
