CREATING A SOUND WEEKLY SCHEDULE

An effective schedule can restore
order to your day by building time to
complete expected and unexpected
tasks. Here are a few tips for creating
a sound weekly schedule:


  • Assess your to-do list.

  • Estimate realistically how long each
    task will take to complete.

  • Build in extra time to allow for daily
    activities, such as responding to
    e-mails and phone messages, as
    well as unexpected interruptions.

  • Factor in “thinking” time to strat-
    egize or work through an issue or
    problem.

  • Distribute tasks throughout the
    week as evenly as possible, taking
    into consideration deadlines and
    other obligations.
