JOC PEDERSON of / br aves

Atlanta picked up Pederson, 29,
from the Cubs at midseason,
and, after another “Joctober” of
clutch hits, his stock is on the rise.
A left-handed bat with enticing
power, he’s also very streaky.

ZACK GREINKE
sp / astros

Greinke’s strikeout rate plummeted to
6.3 K/9 IP this year, the fourth-lowest
mark among the 39 starters with at
least 162 innings. The 38-year-old
future Hall of Famer also recorded a
5.34 ERA in the second half and
suffered a neck injury that limited him
during the postseason. Still, he knows
how to pitch, and he’ll get another
shot with a contender.
