To protect its prey
from an aggressive
hyena or a hungry
lion, this leopard has
carried its impala kill
into a tree to eat in
peace. Leopards, shy
and elusive, look for
sturdy forked branches
to support them. One
slip, and a fresh kill
could fall within reach
of other predators.
