Jarvis could not believe what he had heard. How
can Hammond get so low? Is it not enough to make peace
with the king who killed his father and brother? How can
he marry his daughter?
Jarvis was very angry as he remembered how she
came offering herself to him in privacy in a manner unfit
for a decent woman. But, he decided not to tell Hammond
about it because he did not want Hammond to think that he
wanted everything for himself and was only trying to stand
in the way of anything that could make Hammond happy.
He believed that was the way Hammond had always
thought and therefore, decided to stay silent.
