• Gordon Grant (1875-1962) is known

principally for his painting and etching of the

sea. An artist in the field of fine arts, his quick

sketches were accomplished with a fountain

pen and no preliminary pencil work. He

handles the pen in a sensitive way, with very

little use of solid black, depending on pattern

of the subtle variations of tone.
