In the time between Renae’s consultation and her session, the radio sta-
tion DJs and I set the schedule and assigned Renae to March. When she ar-
rived for her session, I told her she was Miss March. “Oh wow!” she
exclaimed. “I love basketball—March madness.”
I didn’t have a school or professional court available, so I suggested using
the court at the park for a street basketball look. “I’ve got a bunch of [Wis-
consin] Badger clothes,” she said. “And I can bring a basketball.” Armed
with our new concept, we completely scrapped the earlier plan. Renae went
home to get her Badger clothes. We got to the park, set up on the court, and
made some sexy basketball images.
The calendar image turned out to be something really special because
she was so excited about the idea. She bought a session book, a gallery, and
several enlargements—way more than she had ever intended.
