Ruud van Empel was

born in Breda, The

Netherlands, in 1958. He

studied at the St Joost

Academy of Art, moving

to Amsterdam in the late

1980s to work on his

career as a visual artist.

As one of the most

pioneering and innovative

contemporary digital

photographers practising

today, Ruud’s work is

held in the collections of

several major galleries

and museums around

the world and has been

extensively exhibited.

Ruud van Empel is

represented in the United

Kingdom by Huxley-

Parlour Gallery.
