Urban
landscape
Head to urban settings to
capture man-made views
he sprawling
urban jungle
is an amazing
place to take
photographs.
With so many types of
buildings, shapes and outlines
at your fingertips, there are
many approaches you can
take to this setting and come
back with a winning image!
This month for our shooting
challenge we want to see your
best recent or brand-new
image that fits the theme
‘Urban Landscape.’ This could
be anything from the outline
of the city skyline at dusk
to a heavy and dominant
industrial landscape of a
working factory. As long as
there is an element of human
structure in your shot, you
really can’t go wrong!
We look for originality as
well as technical excellence
while we’re judging all the
entries, so take your time
while you’re editing and decide
what works best. You have
just over a month to get your
images in so go out and get
shooting – good luck!

And the Shadows &
Silhouettes winner is...
Bart Strauven
Bart entered this image, taken at the Liège Guillemins railway station in Belgium,
and caught our attention right away. Not only has Bart incorporated the theme
‘Shadows and Silhouettes’ perfectly, the image works on many different levels.
The use of pattern and shapes is strong and visually effective, and the inclusion
of the figure in the distance brings interest and a story to the composition.
Great work – and technically flawless as well.
