MESH PATTERN

This is an easy and versatile pattern that combines a yarn over with a slip 1, knit
1, pass slipped stitch over, abbreviated skp. (For a refresher on skp, see page 57.)
It looks great in both fine and bulky yarns. You work it on an even number of
stitches.

1 Row 1 (RS): K1, yo, slip 1, k1, psso; repeat from to last stitch, k1.

2 Row 2 (WS): Repeat row 1.

3 Repeat rows 1 and 2 for mesh pattern.

BRIOCHE HONEYCOMB PATTERN

Brioche patterns combine yarn overs with slipped stitches and knit 2 togethers
(or purl 2 togethers), and the result is usually a loose but three-dimensional
fabric. Going up a needle size gives this a nice, soft drape. You work it on an
even number of stitches.

1 Row 1 (WS): Yo, slip 1 with yarn at back, k1; repeat from to end.

2 Row 2 (RS): K1, k2tog (these will be the yo and the slipped stitch from the
row before); repeat from
to end.

3 Row 3: K1, yo, slip 1 with yarn at back, k1; repeat from to last stitch, k1.

4 Row 4: K2, k2tog, k1; repeat from to end.

5 Repeat rows 1–4 for brioche honeycomb pattern.
