DIAGONAL LACE


This is a simple lace that is lovely for baby clothes and summer cardigans. This
pattern uses the decrease slip, slip, knit, abbreviated ssk. You work this pattern on
a multiple of 6 stitches.


1 Row 1 (RS): [K1, yo, ssk] twice; repeat from to end.


2 Rows 2, 4, and 6 (WS): Purl.


3 Row 3: K2, yo, ssk, k2; repeat from to end.


4 Row 5: K3, yo, ssk, k1; repeat from to end.


5 Repeat rows 1–6 for diagonal lace.

ARROWHEAD LACE


This lace pattern is easy to follow and works well worked on a shawl or throw.
You work this pattern on a multiple of 6 stitches plus 1.


1 Row 1 and all odd-numbered rows (WS): Purl.


2 Row 2 (RS): K3, yo, ssk, k4; repeat from to last 4 stitches, yo, ssk, k2.


3 Row 4: K1, K2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1; repeat from to end.


4 Row 6: K2tog, yo, K3, yo, slip 1, k2tog, psso, yo; repeat from to last
5 stitches, k3, yo, ssk.


5 Rows 8 and 10: K1, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k1; repeat from to end.


6 Repeat rows 1–10 for arrowhead lace.


LACE LEAF PANEL


This 9-stitch panel works well as an accent. Try it on throws or centered on sleeves.


1 Row 1 (RS): P3, [k1, yo] twice, k1, p3.


2 Rows 2 and 8 (WS): K3, p5, k3.


3 Row 3: P3, k2, yo, k1, yo, k2, p3.


4 Rows 4 and 6: K3, p7, k3.


5 Row 5: P3, ssk, k1, [yo, k1] twice, k2tog, p3.


6 Row 7: P3, ssk, k3, k2tog, p3.


7 Row 9: P3, ssk, k1, k2tog, p3.


8 Rows 10 and 12: K3, p3, k3.


9 Row 11: P3, yo, slip 2 tog knitwise, k1, pass the 2 slipped stitches tog over, yo, p3.
