Here are a few simple color knitting
patterns that you can try. Most of
them employ only two colors so that
you can get a feel for Fair Isle without
getting overwhelmed by using too
many yarn ends and color symbols.
Each pattern is illustrated with a stitch
pattern chart and a companion color
key. See page 86 for information on
reading charts.
COLOR PATTERN 1: TWO COLORS
This 6-stitch repeat can be used as a border when
worked over just four rows, or it can be used as a
stripe pattern if repeated every six rows.
