SCARF

1 CO 15 sts, leaving a 10-inchtail.

2 Work in dropped stitch garter pattern until scarf measures 30 inches

(or desired length), ending with row 1 or 2 of pattern.

3 BO sts, leaving a 10-inchtail.

FINISHING

1 Weave in the cast-on tail and the bind-off tail, using them to gather

the ends of the scarf.

2 Make two 2^1 ⁄ 4 -inchtight pompoms. (See page 180 for instructions.)

3 Gather the ends of the scarf and sew the pompoms to the ends to

hold the gathers.

How to Make the Dropped Stitch Scarf

DROPPED STITCH GARTER PATTERN

Rows 1 and 2: Knit.

Row 3: K1, *yo twice, k1; rep from *to end.

Row 4: Knit across, dropping the yo loops as you go.

Rep rows 1–4 for dropped stitch garter.
