!Next row (WS)—Beg neck shaping: P22, BO 10 (12, 14) sts, p22 sts.


@Next row: Working on right shoulder sts only, k across to last 2 sts, k2tog.


#Next row: Purl.


$Next row: Rep previous RS row (step 12)—20 sts.


%Work this shoulder without further shaping until piece measures 18 (18^1 ⁄ 2 , 19) inches from beg, ending with a RS row.


^Cut yarn, leaving a tail long enough to knit shoulder seam, and put sts on holder.


&Working on left shoulder sts, join yarn, and, beg with a RS row, ssk, k to end.


*Next row (WS): Purl.


(Ssk, k to end—20 sts.


)Rep steps 15 and 16 to finish left shoulder, leaving sts on holder for later.


LEFT FRONT


1 With size 10 needles, CO 31 (33, 35) sts.


2 Work in left front ribbing st, beg with row 1 (RS), until front measures 5 inches
from beg, ending with a WS row.
Note:You may want to use a row counter to keep track of cluster rib cable pattern rows.


3 Next row (RS—Begin cluster rib cable): K7 (8, 9) sts, work row 1 of cluster rib
cable panel across next 14 sts, k10 (11, 12) sts.


4 Next row: P10 (11, 12) sts, work row 2 of cluster rib cable panel over next 14 sts,
p7 (8, 9) sts.


5 Continue working in this manner, with cluster rib cable panel positioned as
established, until piece measures 10^1 ⁄ 2 inches from beg, ending with a WS row.


6 Shape armhole: BO 2 sts beg next row.


7 Next row (WS): Work across row in patt.


8 Next row: K1, ssk, patt to end.


9 Rep last 2 rows (steps 7 and 8) until 27 (28, 29) sts rem.


0 Continue working without shaping until piece measures 14^1 ⁄ 2 (15, 15^1 ⁄ 2 ) inches from beg, ending with a RS row.


!Shape neck (WS): BO 3 sts beg next row, then dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row (by working across to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1)
until 20 sts rem.


@Work to same length as back. Put sts on holder.
