RIGHT FRONT


1 With size 10 needles, CO 31 (33, 35) sts.


2 Work in right front ribbing st, beg with row 1 (RS), until front measures 5 inches
from beg, ending with a WS row.
Note:You may want to use a row counter to keep track of cluster rib cable pattern rows.


3 Next row (RS—Begin cluster rib cable): K10 (11, 12) sts, work row 1 of cluster rib
cable panel across next 14 sts, k7 (8, 9) sts.


4 Next row: P7 (8, 9) sts, work row 2 of cluster rib cable panel across next 14 sts,
p10 (11, 12) sts.


5 Continue working in this manner, with cluster rib cable panel positioned as
established, until piece measures 10^1 ⁄ 2 inches from beg, ending with a RS row.


6 Shape armhole: BO 2 sts beg next row, then dec 1 st at armhole edge every RS
row (by working across row to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1) until 27 (28, 29) sts rem.


7 Continue working without shaping until piece measures 14^1 ⁄ 2 (15, 15^1 ⁄ 2 ) inches from beg, ending with a WS row.


8 Shape neck (RS): BO 3 sts beg next row, then dec 1 st at neck edge every RS row (by k1, ssk, patt to end) until 20 sts rem.


9 Work to same length as back. Put sts on holder.


SLEEVES


1 With size 10 needles, CO 34 sts.


2 Work 2 x 2 ribbing as for back until piece measures 5 inches from beg, ending
with a WS row.
Note:You may want to use a row counter to keep track of cluster cable pattern and sleeve increase rows.


3 Next row (RS—Begin cluster rib cable): K10 sts, work row 1 of cluster rib cable
panel across next 14 sts, k to end.


4 Next row: P10 sts, work row 2 of cluster rib panel across next 14 sts, p to end.


5 Continue working in this manner, with cluster rib panel positioned as
established.
AT THE SAME TIME, shape sleeve: Inc 1 st each end this row, then every 8th row
0 (2, 4) times, then every 12th row 4 (3, 2) times—44 (46, 48) sts. Work without
further shaping until sleeve measures 18^1 ⁄ 2 (19, 19^1 ⁄ 2 ) inches from beg, ending with a WS row.


6 Shape sleeve cap: BO 2 sts beg next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each end every RS row 6 (7, 8) times (by k1, ssk, k across to last 3 sts,
k2tog, k1) until 28 sts rem.


7 BO 2 sts beg next 4 rows—20 sts.


8 BO sts in patt.


9 Rep steps 1–8 to complete second sleeve.
