Teach Yourself Visually Knitting

(Michael S) #1
Sometimes stitches become twisted,
resulting in an uneven finish to the knit
fabric. To recognize the problem, you
need to familiarize yourself with how
stitches should sit on the needle. When
you look at the stitches on your needle,
the right side of each loop should rest
on the front of the needle, and the left
side of each loop should rest against the
back of the needle. If you see a stitch
where the left side of the loop is in
front, you have a twisted stitch.

1 Work across the stitches from the left needle until you get to the twisted
stitch.

2 Use the right needle to pick up the twisted
stitch from the left needle (a), turn it around,
and place it back on the left needle so that
the right side of the loop is in front (b).
