An edge stitch that has been dropped and let run for several rows has a different
appearance from a run down the interior of a piece of knitting. Instead of seeing
a row of horizontal ladders, you see two loops at the edge: the dropped stitch
and a large loop of yarn at the edge. For this repair, too, you use a crochet hook
that is the appropriate size for the yarn you’re using.
Correcting Mistakes
chapter 5
1 Insert the crochet hook from front to back
through the dropped stitch. Pull the big loop
through it to the front.
2 Repeat step 1 until you get to the top.
Dropped stitch
3 Use the crochet hook to pull the working yarn through the last stitch created.
4 Use the crochet hook to place the repaired stitch back onto the left needle.
The repaired stitch is ready to be worked as usual.
