dark because the camera
cannot record the full range
of light in the scene. A bit of
fill flash would have opened
up the shadows.
The highlights are sunlight reflecting
directly off of the hair. This is impor-
tant highlight detail, so my exposure
was set to capture it.
The hard edge shadow
transitions are created by
the relatively small size of
the light source (the sun).
