on. Some of them are funny, in short bursts,
sometimes, but Goat Simulator is just a bad
game. Once the initial novelty of flinging a
floppy goat around a series of physics
playgrounds wears off, which takes about ten

What I love about PC gaming is how
stuff like this can exist. I mean, it isn’t a
great simulator, but what other platform
lets you step into the world of a garbage
collector? Escapism can take many forms.3
HOUSE FLIPPER
Buy houses, renovate them, sell them
for a profit. That’s the core loop of this
weird, fun sim, but there’s a twist: You have
to do it all yourself. Repairs, interior design,
cleaning up... you have to handle it all alone.AVOID THISELITE DANGEROUS
With a flight stick and throttle, Elite is one of the most
enjoyable sims on PC. The space combat is exciting, and
even something as mundane as docking feels satisfying. It’s
almost as good with a controller or mouse and keyboard,
and there’s a huge amount to do in the game.

CLIFFS OF DOVER
If you watched Dunkirk, this sim
captures the excitement brilliantly. Set
during the Battle of Britain, it features
20 aircraft, a realistic flight simulation,
and a map covering the entire southeast
of England, including London, and parts
of France and Belgium. Make sure you
play the Blitz Edition on Steam, a
massive overhaul co-developed by fans.1
